Bernie Webber To Be Presented with Lifetime
Achievement Award at Chamber Gala; Arlan Hatloe
Named Henry M. Jackson Citizen of Year.
Snohomish County legend and artist Bernie Webber
will be presented with a special Lifetime Achievement
Award at the Everett Area Chamber’s Night
of Stars Annual Awards Gala Dec. 9, the Chamber
announced today.
The 2004 Gala, the festive capstone of the Chamber’s
year of accomplishment, honors an illustrious
group of community leaders, all of whom continue
to serve as inspirations to colleagues and associates.
Everett businessman and civic leader Arlan Hatloe
has been named the Chamber’s 2004 Henry
M. Jackson Citizen of the Year. The prestigious
award honors an individual who has demonstrated
exemplary service to the business community.
“Arlan exemplifies the spirit and the
commitment of Henry M. Jackson Citizen of the
Year award,” said Chamber President Louise
Stanton-Masten. “He is a respected regional
business leader whose vision has enhanced Everett’s
business and community growth. His commitment
to the people of Everett and Snohomish County
is legendary – and it is backed up by
countless hours of hard work and dedication.”
Sally Kortekaas of The Herald has been named
recipient of the 2004 Chairman’s
Award. Verizon Northwest has been named
2004 Friend of the Chamber.
Linda Johannes of the Everett Mall is the 2004
recipient of the President’s Award.
Stephanie Broome, of Stargate Technologies,
will receive the Ambassador of the Year
Award.
Todd Morrow, who exemplifies the spirit of true
community service through dedication to enhancing
the quality of life for all, has been named
2004 recipient of the Dick Stephens
Community Caring Award.
In addition, five Awards of Excellence each
year to recognize individuals who best exemplify
attributes of excellence in leadership of their
organizations and who have advanced business
conditions in the community. 2004 recipients
include:
Corporate Executive of the Year:
Randy Lyman, owner of Randy’s Ring &
Pinion. This award is give to an executive of
a large company who has demonstrated exceptional
leadership, success and drive in his or her
company, advanced the general interests of business
and served as a positive role model of a professional
business manager.
Small Business Executive of the Year:
Andy Hall, of Botesch, Nash & Hall Architects,
P.S. This award is presented each year to an
executive of a small business whose leadership
and initiative has brought recognized success
to his or her company, advanced the general
interests of business and served as a positive
role model.
Service to Business: Cynthia
First, Snohomish County PUD commissioner, and
Congressman Rick Larsen. This award recognizes
an elected official who demonstrates outstanding
support to business through support of activities
that enhance the economic well being of the
community.
Employer of the Year: Naval
Station Everett, recognizing the excellence
in mentoring, management, and leadership exhibited
by the Navy base, which now is the second largest
employer in Snohomish County.
Employee of the Year: Kristi
Keene, of the Everett Mall, for her ability
to serve as a strong, positive role model for
other employees within her organization.
The gala includes a 5:30 p.m. reception, followed
by a dinner and program beginning at 6:30 p.m.
