Miles of coastline, ranges of rugged mountains, old-growth forests and an abundance of breathtaking views make Snohomish County a feast for tourists and residents alike. Spectacular hikes, exceptional shopping, leisurely ferry rides, invigorating bike trips, unparalleled fishing and abundant golf are just some of the recreational options awaiting visitors.

Forest Park’s 110 acres offer a swim center, recreation hall and animal farm/petting zoo. Other park programs include a popular summer ferry run to Jetty Island, just off the Everett waterfront. The two-mile-long island offers sandy beaches and grass-covered upland dunes that are home to a surprising number of mammal and bird species. A visit to the island can include a 45-minute nature walk with park rangers, as an introduction to the many interesting wildlife and plants that call Jetty Island home.

The Narbeck Wetland Sanctuary includes an interpretative center designed to look like a beaver lodge and provides a panoramic view of a19-acre wetland, home to herons, blackbirds, and a wide variety of other wildlife. Many other local parks provide water access, hiking trails and a wide variety of options, whether one is looking for activities or relaxation.

A number of Everett parks host youth sports programs such as Little League baseball, soccer, basketball, football and softball.
