Transportation Back to Business Relocation

Everett's convenient, central location means an exceptional variety of transportation services are available.

Interstate 5 runs along western Washington, through Seattle and Everett, north to Vancouver, British Columbia, and south to Portland, Oregon. Other major local freeways include Interstate 90, connecting Everett to all points east, and Interstate 405, which provides quick access to various key King County technology communities to the east. Additional arteries connect the Everett area to surrounding cities and to the region?s many exceptional recreational areas.

Everett Transit (http://www.everettwa.org/transit) provides convenient citywide bus service. Community Transit (http://www.commtrans.org) provides public transportation to all of Snohomish County, downtown Seattle, the University of Washington area and the Bellevue Transit Center. Community Transit also has dozens of vanpool vehicles in daily operation, taking the pressure off the main arteries with comfortable and timely service. Sound Transit (http://www.soundtransit.org) provides express bus service throughout the Puget Sound metropolitan area. Greyhound provides regional bus service.

The Washington State ferry system operates two runs in Snohomish County: one between Edmonds in south Snohomish County and Kingston on the Olympic Peninsula, and another between Mukilteo and Clinton on south Whidbey Island.

The Snohomish County Airport, at Paine Field (http://www.painefield.com), is a major general aviation facility, with a capacity for a wide range of aircraft. Paine Field serves all sizes of aircraft, up to and including the Boeing wide-body jetliners that travel in and out of Boeing's Everett manufacturing and design complex. Five smaller regional airports a relocated at Snohomish, Sultan, Arlington, Darrington and Monroe. All of these airports handle smaller aircraft and charter services.

The Everett Station transportation center (http://www.everettwa.org/station), located between Pacific Avenue and 35th Street southeast of Everett's downtown core, ties many of these transportation modes together. Everett Station creates a transportation hub for Amtrak, Sound Transit, Everett Transit, Community Transit, Greyhound, Trailways, tour buses, shuttles, taxis, carpools and bicycles.
